A highly technical dance style based on traditional ballet vocabulary and technique. Choreography follows established ballet principles and structure, showcasing clarity of line, musicality, and disciplined execution. Ballet shoes or pointe shoes must be worn.

An energetic and expressive style that showcases strong technique, sharp movements, and rhythmic precision. This category includes Broadway, Classical Jazz Technique and Commercial Jazz styles, each highlighting performance quality, personality and musicality.

A rhythmic dance style where dancers create percussive sounds with metal plates on their shoes, emphasising timing and musicality and intricate footwork.

A fluid and emotive dance style that blends ballet and jazz techniques to interpret the lyrics and mood and emotions of a song.

A versatile and expressive dance form combining elements of ballet, modern, and jazz, often exploring abstract movement and emotion.

Hip Hop is a dynamic street dance style characterised by its strong foundations, isolations, grooves, and freestyle movement. This section allows for and encourages the use of all Street Dance styles, including but not limited to waacking, popping, house, locking, breaking, vogue, litefeet & animation.

A stylised representation of traditional folk dances from a wide range of countries, using music and movements adapted for theatre.

Open Style can be any dance style. This section is only for routines in a style we do not offer, or for studios entering two routines in the same style and wishing both routines to compete. Open Style is adjudicated on overall performance and execution, including style appropriate technique, musicality, choreography and stage presence. The same routine cannot be entered in more than one section and competitor cross-over rules still apply.
